Fort Myers Beach Anniversary Session at Lani Kai Resort
Natalie & Jason
Natalie and Jason’s session felt special from the very beginning.
Not just because they’re also photographers, but because this beach holds real meaning for them.
Lani Kai on Fort Myers Beach isn’t just a pretty backdrop. It’s where they got engaged years ago while vacationing, and it’s a place they’ve returned to year after year.
Coming back to celebrate their first wedding anniversary there felt full-circle in the best way.

From the moment we STARTED...
the energy was effortless. Playful. Emotionally charged. Loving. A little spicy. And genuinely fun. There was no hesitation, no stiffness, no warming up period. Within the first five minutes, I knew this session was going to be something special. They trusted my direction, leaned fully into it, and immediately started laughing and connecting in a way that can’t be forced.
Effortless Connection From Start to Finish
There are sessions where you guide gently and wait for the energy to build.
And then there are sessions like this, where the connection is already alive and you just follow it.
Natalie and Jason moved together so naturally. Lots of joking, laughing, and that kind of ease that comes from two people who are deeply comfortable with one another.
We spent time in the water, letting the waves take over. At one point the water was up to my stomach while they were already out there, completely unbothered, playing and loving on each other like it was second nature.
Those moments were loud and joyful, but they were also balanced by quieter ones.
As the sun dipped lower, the energy softened. There were pauses in the water. Stillness between waves. Small moments where everything slowed down and felt heavy in the best way.

Photographing Fellow Photographers
Photographing other photographers always brings an interesting dynamic, and with Natalie and Jason, it felt like mutual respect and creative trust.
When the light turned harsh and we searched for shade, I got creative with shadows and angles.
Without a word, they understood the assignment. No overthinking. Just presence and trust.
That freedom allowed me to really lean into creativity during this session, and it shows in the gallery. There was space to play with movement and stillness, softness and drama, warmth and contrast.

Blue Hour, Bold Moments,
and Everything In Between
Some of my favorite images from this session came from the contrast. The movement-filled moments in the water, followed by still, intimate frames as the sky deepened. And then blue hour hit.
The dramatic blue hour pose is hands-down my favorite image from the entire gallery. It feels bold, rich, intimate, and cinematic. One of those images that holds emotion without needing explanation.
This gallery feels free. Wild. Steamy. Loving. Warm. Bold. Storytelling through and through.

Why This Session Will Stay With Me
This session sticks with me because of who Natalie and Jason are.
Kind, beautiful humans who trusted me with something deeply personal.
Celebrating their first year of marriage in the place their story began felt like an honor to witness, and even more of an honor to photograph. There was so much love in the air that night. The kind you can feel without needing words.
The kind that reminds you why this work matters.
